The Art of Making Memories

Meik Wiking, the happiness researcher and author of the beloved book The Little Book of Hygge: The Danish Way to Live Well, has most recently written The Art of Making Memories: How to Create and Remember Happy Moments. The Art of Making Memories explores the brain's mechanisms for storing experiences into long-term memory. Wiking offers many strategies for boosting memory, and his self-effacing humor, and positive energy make the book more fun than it sounds. My favorite part of this book is the last chapter (Conclusion) in which the author offers ideas for great things one can do to create wonderful experiences and memories. If you are interested in keeping your brain healthy and learning how to have a better memory, you will enjoy this book. Hardcover is 288 small pages, and the audiobook is 4 hrs and 34 mins. Because I'm a little crazy, I listened to the book on Audible, AND I referred to the pages of the hardback to see the photos. If you can only do one or the other, I suggest listening to the author reading his own book while driving, walking, cooking or cleaning!
